Overview
CRE Resources provides on-site RII assessments for excavator operations at your workplace. We do not deliver training or courses; our focus is solely on assessing operators against the nationally recognised unit(s) of competency. Our assessors come to your site and assess your operator on your own equipment, through a competency assessment (RII Statement of Attainment) or Verification of Competency (VOC). Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be taken into account for the assessment.
What the assessment covers
Depending on the unit(s) being assessed, operators demonstrate their ability to:
- Plan and prepare for excavator operations
- Operate the excavator safely to workplace and industry requirements
- Lift, carry and place materials
- Select, fit and remove attachments (civil construction)
- Relocate the excavator and complete shutdown and housekeeping
The assessment process
Assessment includes a theory component (knowledge questions) and a practical component (demonstration of skills on the machine).
Entry requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Competent in written and spoken English
- Able to provide two forms of identification
- Access to suitable workplace equipment for the assessment
On completion
On successful assessment, operators receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the relevant unit(s) of competency, issued by our partner RTO, SDS Training (RTO ID 32505). A competency card is available on request.
